Facebook is today facing fresh criticism for removing and banning a member from the social networking website for posting a picture of a lesbian kiss which was used to mark International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

The picture was posted on Facebook by Carlotta Trevisan a 28-year-old mother.

The photo sparked a furious reaction from friends within her network who requested facebook remove the photo.

Facebook requested the photo advising the photo has been removed because it violated the community’s standards on nudity and pornography.

She refused to remove the photo and her Facebook profile was removed after she refused to comply with the community standards.
