Convicted murderer Arnold Pickering escapes prison for third time

A convicted killer named Arnold Pickering aged 44 has escaped jail for the third time, he is currently serving a sentence for murder,

He was allowed out on day release and failed to return to HMP Kennet in Maghull, Merseyside, after leaving the Category C jail at about 9.30am yesterday.

Police believe the killer is in the Stockport Area, He is extremely dangerous and should not be approached.

In 1990 he escaped strangeways prison in Manchester while on the run he stabbed a man in Oldham.

In 2009 he absconded from HMP Kirkham while he was allowed on day release to work within a Manchester shop.

A convicted robber who is serving an indeterminate sentence also failed to return.

Pickering is described as about 5ft 11in, of medium build and with blue eyes. He has tattoos on his arms and chest.

Moffett is about 5ft 10in, also of a medium build and with brown eyes. He has a scar on his right knee and tattoos of swastikas on his arms.

Police are appealing to anyone with any information on either of the prisoners’ whereabouts to call Merseyside Police on either 0151 777 3803 or 0151 777 3891, or via 101.
