The suspect being questioned over the possible murder of Claudia Lawrence has been named as Michael Snelling, a former York University employer.

North Yorkshire Police will today continue question 59-year-old Snelling, Police are allowed to hold him for 24 hours after that period an extension must be applied for to extend his stay in custody, and grant detectives permission to continue to question the suspect.

Forensic Officers and Police search teams will continue to search his property in North Shields.
