Northumbria Police are appealing for information after a cash box was stolen from a South Tyneside telephone kiosk.

The theft occurred at 11.57pm on Saturday April 26th.

Offenders approached the kiosk, outside the Grey Horse Inn, on North Guards, Whitburn, before making off with the box.

Enquiries into the theft are underway and police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in or around the kiosk around the time of the incident.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact police on 101, extension 69191, quoting log number 1450 26/04/14, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
