Police have confirmed wanted fugitive has been arrested in relation to an armed robbery at the Chelsea Building Society.
while a crime scene was in place police officers from Kent Police and The Metropolitan were carrying out a police operation which resulted in the detention of the wanted Michael Wheatley, who had failed to return to HMP Standford Hill
Kent Police and the Metropolitan police have confirmed to Police Hour that they have arrested two men one aged 55 and the other 53 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Police have further confirmed to Police Hour that Michael Wheatley has further been arrested on suspicion at being unlawfully at large.
Both men were today arrested at Tower Hamlets area of London are currently in police custody.
Forensic officers will remain at the scene of the armed robbery in Sunbury-on-Thames gathering forensic evidence in relation to the armed robbery this morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Raymer, of Surrey Police, said: “I would like to thank the local community for their assistance and patience as we conducted extensive enquiries this morning.
“We have been liaising with colleagues at Kent Police and the Metropolitan Police as part of our enquiries and two men have now been arrested in connection with this offence.”
