Lancashire Police have confirmed a two-year-old girl has died after she suffered a number of serious injuries.

Police were alerted by the ambulance service to a property on Granby Avenue in Blackpool.

The ambulance service arrived on the scene to an unresponsive Kasey Hambleton aged two.

The toddler was rushed to a Blackpool Victoria Hospital and was transferred by air to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, The youngster sadly died.

Police have charged Conner Gibson he is aged 23 of Melrose a avenue in Blackpool with murder.

Police have further arrested a 23-year-old female on suspicion of murder, she has been bailed until Tuesday 8th July.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Gilbert has said “This is a terribly tragic incident where a little girl has sadly lost her fight for life and I am determined to find out exactly what has happened to her and how she has come to acquire injuries so serious that they have proven fatal.

“I personally encourage anyone who may have any information about little Kasey and the days leading up to her death to come forward to help us in what has now developed into a murder investigation.”
