A seven year old boy who was found burning in a street has sadly died.

Young Preston Flores was rushed to hospital on Good Friday after he was found running down the street ‘screaming and crying’ he was on fire from neck down.

Emergency servers raced him to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh in a critical condition, he has sadly died.

His mum Luisza released a statement ‘Preston’s family want to inform the public that their precious little boy has passed away and is at rest.

‘He meant the world to his family and will always be deeply missed and loved. Preston was a special little boy and his loss has ripped our family apart.

‘On behalf of our family I would like to thank everyone for their support but would ask that we are now allowed to grieve in peace for Preston.’

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, there is currently ‘no evidence of any deliberate act’.

It is believed he was covered petrol and somehow became a human fire ball.
