Attempted murder outside Hare and Hounds in Whitby

A 31-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an altercation outside the Hare and Hounds pub at High Hawsker, near Whitby, at around 10pm on Sunday 20 April 2014.

A 30-year-old man from Derbyshire is currently in a stable condition at the James Cook University Hospital on Teesside having undergone surgery for stab wounds to his body.

The suspect was arrested at 1.55am on Monday (21 April) near Hawsker.

An area outside the pub was cordoned off for a forensic examination which has now been completed.

Any witnesses to this incident are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1, and pass information to the Force Control Room.
