11-year-old school girl injured in Middlesbrough hit and run

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 11-year-old girl was hurt in a collision involving a car in Middlesbrough.

The incident happened at around 4pm on Wednesday 23rd April at the pedestrian crossing under the foot bridge on Heywood Street.

The vehicle, believed to be white and possibly a Skoda taxi, did not stop at the scene.

The girl suffered bruising to her leg and elbows and minor facial injuries in the incident.

Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the vehicle is asked to contact PC 1957 Michael Campbell on the non-emergency 101 number.
