Police investigating the death of Marc Jepson in Farnworth have today, Sunday, 9 March 2014, made two arrests.
A 27-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman from Farnworth were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody for questioning.
Officers were called at 4.30pm on Wednesday, 5 March 2014, to a house on Kildare Street following a report that a man’s body had been found.
Officers attended and discover the body of a 40-year-old man, now formally identified as Marc Jepson.
A post mortem examination concluded Marc died as a result of asphyxiation.
Detectives launched a murder investigation and are continuing to appeal for witnesses.
Detective Superintendent Robert Tonge, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “The fact we have made these arrests does not mean the investigation has come to a close.
“The inquiry will continue for some time and we are continuing to appeal for witnesses.”
