A Solicitor Katy Gammon has pleaded guilty to killing her pet dog by locking it in the kitchen without any food following a painful death.
She moved out of her home leaving her five-year old boxer Roxy locked in without food or water.
The sick woman even left dog food close to the dog locked in a separate room away from the dog.
The neighbours reported loads of files outside the house which was investigated 10 weeks later.
The rotting dog was found, starved to death, the court was told the poor dog is likely to have suffered a long and painful death over six days.
The dog desperately searched for food and water clawing out cupboards before its death.
Police attended the house and discover she had locked the dog in the kitchen with rope attached to the door and the hallway hooks to ensure the dog could not escape and get to the food.
The dog’s decomposing corpse was discovered covered in maggots and a snow shovel had to be used to remove the remains.
