Two men were confronted by a group of six to eight youths, two of whom were brandishing kitchen knives, during an aggravated burglary last night at Walkley, Sheffield.

The offenders knocked at the back door of a shared property at Whitehouse Lane at 10.50pm on 27 February.

It was opened by an occupant, but as he tried to close the door, the gang forced their way inside.

The culprits threatened two of the seven people in the house, before searching the property and making off with an X-box and tobacco. No-one was hurt.

Police, who believe the incident was targeted, have carried out door-to-door and forensic enquiries.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the aggravated burglary to come forward.

Anyone who can help should contact South Yorkshire Police on: 101 and quote incident number 1202 of 27 February, 2014. Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers on: 0800 555111.
