Police are appealing for help to trace a man after a woman and child were followed around a supermarket.

Shortly before 8pm on 17 January 2014, it is believed a woman and teenage girl were followed around Asda on Priestners Way, Leigh and into the nearby McDonald’s.

As part of the investigation police are keen to trace the man in the CCTV image, who is described as white, in his 50s, with a white beard and was seen walking with the aid of a stick.

Detective Constable Alison Wallwork, said: “We have scrutinised CCTV from both Asda and McDonald’s and believe a woman and teenage girl were followed around both locations.

“They appear to be oblivious to this and as part of our subsequent investigation we are now trying to identify the man in the CCTV image.

“If you recognise someone from the image please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7292/7964, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
