North Yorkshire Police have placed a police corned at a house at Osbaldwick in york due to a man who is distressed.

Police are attempting to negotiate with the man who is threatening to harm himself.

The incident has been ongoing on Osbaldwick Lane since 7.56pm on Friday (31 January 2014) after concerned relatives feared for the man’s wellbeing.

The scene was quickly contained by officers.

The man, who is in a confused state of mind, remains in the house alone and there is no danger to the wider public.

Police will continue their efforts to bring the situation to safe conclusion.
