Man threatened with machete in Skelmersdale, West Lancashire

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a robbery in Skelmersdale in which a man was threatened with a machete.

Around 1.35am on Tuesday 25 February 2014, two men approached the back of a flat on Acregate, smashed a window and leaned in and threatened the man inside.

One of the men was armed with a machete and demanded money from the 57 year old. The victim handed over a mobile phone and a quantity of cash before the two men left.

Fortunately the man wasn’t physically injured but was left shaken by what had happened.

DC Jo Collinson said: “This was a terrifying incident for the man involved and I would appeal to anybody who has any information about it to contact police.

“What you may believe to be insignificant could prove crucial to this investigation so I would urge anybody to come forward with even the smallest amount of information.”
