Rotherham man sentenced to life imprisonment for murder
Thirty-four-year-old David Sindall, from Rotherham, has been handed a life sentence for the murder of Dean Armitage, 49.

Sindall, of Selbourne Street in Eastwood, was found guilty yesterday, Wednesday, 26 February, of Mr Armitage’s murder in July last year.

The trial began on Monday, 17 February, at Sheffield Crown Court. This afternoon, Thursday, 27 February, he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 24 years.

Detective Inspector Kevin Brown, who led the investigation, said: “This case has been heartbreaking and devastating for Mr Armitage’s family and I hope now it has concluded they can slowly start rebuilding their lives following such a tragic and painful loss.”

Sindall was also given a sentence of nine months’ imprisonment, to run concurrently, for four counts of burglary, and a further sentence of nine months’ imprisonment, also to run concurrently, for two counts of theft.
