A man has died following a collision in Fallowfield.

At about 3.25pm on Tuesday 11 February 2014, emergency services were called to the junction of Wilmslow Road and Landcross Road to reports of a collision between a truck and a cyclist.

Officers attended and found that a truck had been involved in a collision with a cyclist.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Wilmslow Road is closed in both directions up to the junction of Old Hall Lane and Wilbraham Road.

Sergeant Lee Westhead from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are investigating the circumstances leading up to this collision and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to call us as soon as possible.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4742.
