29 Year old Arrested on Suspicion of Dangerous Driving after six year old injured in A174 Collision

Cleveland Police have launched an investigation following a road traffic collision which occurred on the A174.

Police received several reports of the collision which happened on the Westbound Carriageway of the A174 at around 6.15pm on Sunday, February 16th,

A black Mitsubishi Shogun and a silver Vauxhall Astra were involved.

A 53-Year-Old male driver who was driving the Mistubishi was admitted to James Cook University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The Vauxhall Astra was driven by a 29-year-old male driver and a six year old was within the car, they both suffered minor injuries within the collision.

The 29-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Any witnesses who may have been travelling on the A174 dual carriageway between the A19 and Hemlington interchange between 6pm and 6.15pm on Sunday evening, 16th February, are asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting event number 26031.
