At 11am today Cumbria Police will be transporting a ship’s rudder from Burton Services on the M6 to Barrow, which may cause a small delay for motorists.

The load is classed as an ‘abnormal load’ due to its width. It will travel at normal road speeds, but its width may cause some traffic disruption.

It will be travelling from Burton Services on the M6 Northbound and leaving the motorway at J36. It will then head west on the A590 towards Barrow, where it is expected to arrive between 12pm and 12:30pm.

Drivers are asked to allow time for their journeys, and police would like to thank them in advance for their patience.
