Police make arrest man after stabbing which leaves man in serious condition

A man has been arrested after a man was stabbed in Manchester city centre.

At 12.40am on Sunday 26 January 2014, police were called to the Triangle near to the junction with New Cathedral Street following reports a 25-year-old man had been stabbed.

Officers arrived and found the man had been stabbed in his torso. He was taken to hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and remains in police custody for questioning.
