Police have released an urgent appeal to help trace the parents of a boy found in Watford

Police say the boy is believed to be aged three and who’s name is not known was found at the parade of shops in The Gossamers at 1.30pm today.

His parents have not come forward or reported him as missing.

Police are now working to trace the parents of the young boy.

He is described as being around one metre tall, slim, having light tanned skin, dark brown eyes and short wavy brown hair. He is wearing a navy blue Thomas the Tank Engine tracksuit.

Members of the public who recognise the child are asked to call police using the police non-emergency number 101 and quoting incident reference number 587 of 1/1/2014.

Update: A 48-year-old man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect and is currently in police custody while inquiries continue.
