A teaching assistant, charge nurse and a women’s support worker are among the latest recruits to join the ranks of Derbyshire’s Special Constabulary.
Sixteen special constables will attend an official attestation ceremony this evening (13 January) at police headquarters in Ripley, where they will swear an oath to the Queen and be presented with their warrant cards.
Before stepping out to patrol in their neighbourhoods, the specials will be congratulated by Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Gary Knighton and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa.
The constables will be based at various locations across the force
T/ACC Knighton said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome our latest team of special constable recruits into Derbyshire Constabulary.
“Each of our new recruits has undertaken rigorous training and the ceremony is a celebration of their achievements thus far.”
The group will be based at various locations across the county covering all of the policing divisions.
