North Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation following the theft of a National Trust Display unit in Helmsley.

Police have released a CCTV image of a white transit van towing away the battleship grey trailer as it went along Sawmill Lane just after 8pm on Tuesday 21st January 2014.

Police are appealing to anyone who saw the white van either in the hours leading up to 8pm or saw it towing the trailer through Helmsley and out of the town. They also want to hear from anyone who knows where the trailer is now.

Anyone that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for PC Linda Coles or Helmsley police.
