Missing Allan Atkinson missing over a week

Cumbria Police are continuing to appeal for information about missing person Allan Atkinson, who has now been missing for over a week.

Mr Atkinson was last seen in the Cumwhinton Road area of Carlisle, and police have been informed that he was sighted walking towards London Road, in the vicinity of the shopping area at around 1pm on Tuesday 7th January 2014.

Sgt Ian Woods, from Cumbria Police said:

“We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Mr Atkinson, and we’re asking for people to check outbuildings, sheds and garages in the Carlisle area to see if there is any recent sign of activity.

“His wife and brother are worried about him and are hoping that he will make contact to let his family and friends that he is safe and well.”

Last week, in an effort to help trace his whereabouts, a new picture was released. Police appealed, and continue to appeal, for all hotels in Cumbria to check the picture and inform the police if any guests who have checked in over the last few days match the description of Mr Atkinson.

He is described as 5ft 10” tall, with short, light brown hair. He is of a medium build with a ruddy complexion. When he was last seen he was wearing blue jeans and a grey jacket with a hood.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts or as seen anyone matching the description is asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101 and speak to the duty Sergeant at Carlisle City quoting reference CP-20140107-0211
