Two men attempted to take cash from a shop in Radcliffe.

Between 9.40pm and 9.50pm on Sunday 13 January 2014, two offenders went into Costcutter on Ainsworth Road in Radcliffe.

One of the men pointed a gun at members of staff and demanded cash. A shop worker confronted the men who then left without taking anything.

One of the men is described as being around 5ft 6in tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black hooded coat with the hood up. His face was covered with a Halloween style skeleton mask and he was carrying what is described as a silver handgun.

The other man is described as being 5ft tall and of a large build. He had his face covered with a scarf.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Alison Byrne said: “While nothing was taken, it was a frightening experience that has left the shop workers understandably shaken.

“We would ask anyone with information about who may be responsible or who remembers seeing the two men in the area to contact police.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 8181 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
