Manchester Metro Link reopens following blood in lift incident

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a Metro Link station in Manchester has reopened following the discovery of blood within the lift.

Members of the public acted quickly when blood was discovered in the lift and police immediately placed a cordon in place and deployed crime scene officers to the scene who confirmed the substance was blood.

Upon detectives reviewing CCTV images Manchester Police confirmed that blood was dripping from bags that a male carried in to the lift.

Police quickly identified the man and conformed that he had suffered a burst blood vessel in his leg which sparked a large scale investigation.
