man suffered a fractured skull after being assaulted as he lay unconscious on the ground in Salford.
At about 1.30am on Saturday 11 January 2014, two men, aged 19 and 23, were walking away from the Weaver’s Arms in Swinton towards Station Road when they were approached by a gang of men.
The victims ran back towards the pub but were chased by the group and assaulted on the road outside the pub.
One man, 19, was treated for bruising to his face. The other man, aged 23, was knocked to the ground, before being repeatedly kicked to the head and body as he lay defenceless.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to a fractured skull.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed until 5 February 2014, pending further enquiries.
Detective Constable Steve Robinson, said: “Having viewed the CCTV of this incident I can say this is a totally cowardly attack by a group of men who continued to assault a seriously injured man as he lay defenceless on the ground.
“The area was extremely busy and there were a lot of people leaving the pub when this happened and I need to speak to them.
