A man has been arrested after one man was stabbed and another received a foot injury in an attack in Manchester city centre.

In the early hours of Saturday 25 January 2014, police received reports that two men had been injured in the Cambridge Street area of Manchester city centre.

On arrival, officers discovered a 38-year-old man had received a stab wound to the back and a 40-year-old man had a broken foot.

Both men are being treated in hospital with the 38-year-old is in a serious but stable condition.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and possession of a Class A drug and remains in police custody for questioning.
