Four arrested over assault of disabled man

A total of four people have now been arrested after a disabled man was assaulted at a bus station in Stockport.

The 66-year-old was assaulted at the Daw Bank bus station in November.

Four teenagers, two aged 15 and two aged 16, have all been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

They have been bailed until 23 January 2014 pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Julia Bowden, said: “Following an appeal for information the four people we wanted to trace from the CCTV images were quickly identified.

“All have been interviewed and have cooperated with the police investigation. A file of evidence shall now be considered by the CPS.

“I know feelings continue to run high but I cannot stress how important it is that the judicial process is allowed to run its course and that these boys are not subjected to trial by social media.”
