At about 1.25pm yesterday, Monday 20 January 2014, an 89-year-old woman from Bredbury Green was crossing Hatherlow (A627), near it’s junction with Overdale Road.

A Land Rover Discovery, driven by a 45-year-old woman from Marple, was then in collision with the woman.

The woman suffered several injuries, including to her face and ribs, and was taken to hospital where she is currently described as being in a critical, but stable, condition.

No-one else was hurt in the collision and the road was closed for two and a half hours while emergency services dealt with the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4745.
