Emergency services are currently on the scene of a serious collision close to the Wok Inn in Hartlepool.

The driver of a Skoda Car has been rushed to hospital following the serious incident in which the male driver had to be cut free.

The car is believed to have smashed in to a lamppost causing serve damage to the car and lamppost.

It is believed that the car lost control on black ice causing the collision.
