A body has been found in a canal in Manchester city centre.

At 6.10am on Friday 10 January 2014, police were called to the canal near Store Street and Great Ancoats Street, following reports of a body.

Officers attended and found the body of a man, believed to be in his 30s.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.
