An 84-year-old woman was victim of a distraction burglary in south Manchester.
At around 9.20pm on Monday 6 January 2014, the woman answered her door to her Willow Court home. The offender asked if any letters had been posted to her by mistake.
She then asked for a glass of water and the victim went to the kitchen. The woman returned, gave her the water and the offender left.
It was only when she went that the victim realised her purse had been stolen.
The woman is described as being white, in her 20s, 5ft 4in tall and had blonde hair.
Police Constable Terence Brady from Didsbury INPT said: “This woman is 84 and a vulnerable member of our community. The offender targeted her on purpose and preyed on her good will when she went to get her a drink.
“I would ask anyone who may have seen this woman leave the area or who feels they may have been a victim of her, to contact police.”
