IT happened at around 2pm on Wednesday 15 January on the A449 at Moss Pit and involved a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Nissan Navara pick-up.
The driver of the Corsa, a 75-year-old woman from Stafford, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire where she remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A 51-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Corsa was taken to Stafford Hospital with minor injuries while the driver of the Nissan, a 69-year-old man from Stafford, suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
The road remained closed for around two hours while specially trained officers carried out an examination at the scene.
Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 330 of January 15.
