Police can confirm that the woman who died after falling into water yesterday morning (11th January) has been identified as Sue Jones, from Satterthwaite, aged 60.

Police were called at 10:45am today with a report of a woman in the water at Force Forge, Ulverston. Fire and ambulance attended and she was rescued from the water at around 11am. It is believed she fell into the water and got into difficulty. She was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary in a serious condition, where she later sadly died.

Police are not treating the incident as suspicious at this time.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call Cumbria Police on 101 and ask for Barrow CID.
