Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in South Staffordshire.

The incident happened at around 8.15am on Thursday 2 January at the Spar Store in Windmill Bank, Wombourne, just after the store opened. Three men armed with crowbars entered the store and stole a quantity of cigarettes and cash.

No one was injured or threatened but staff were left shaken by the incident.

The offenders left in a faded red/pink Audi A3 with a white front number and black alloys.

A forensic examination was carried out at the store and an investigation is underway. Plain clothed officers and uniformed officers will be carrying out patrols in the area and near other convenience shops in the South Staffordshire area.

Store staff and members of the public are asked to be vigilant and to report any suspicious behaviour, or vehicles, to police immediately by calling 999.

A £5,000 reward is being offered by the company for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Witnesses are asked to contact DC Ken Cox at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 82 of January 2. Alternatively, they can contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
