Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery which happened on The Greenway
opposite Charlie’s Convenience Store in Middlesbrough.

The incident happened some time between 6pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday 11th
December.

A 45-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed by three youths. She was pushed from
behind, falling over and then when she was on the ground she was kicked and hit,
sustaining injuries to her body and face.

The youths stole £75 and made off in an unknown direction, leaving the woman on the
floor.

The first suspect is described as a white male, around 16-19 years old, around 5ft 10”
tall with short, ginger hair and wearing a black and brown tracksuit. He had a local
accent and is believed to have been riding a pedal cycle.

The other two suspects are described as similar in appearance, of a similar age,
wearing dark tracksuits and woolly hats which were possibly black or brown in colour.

The victim attended hospital for treatment and has been left traumatised by the incident.

Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects is
asked to contact PC Heather Coates on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800
555 111.
