Officers are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision near Kingsley Moor.

The collision happened at around 8.20pm on Wednesday 18 December on the A52 Leek Road when a red Toyota Hilux was in collision with a tree.

Sadly, the driver, a 50-year-old man from the Staffordshire Moorlands, suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Formal identification has not yet taken place.

The road remained closed until around 1am on Thursday 19 December while specialist officers carried out an investigation.

Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 779 of December 18.
