A man has been charged with the murder of a mother and her child were found dead in a house in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian.

The bodies of 29-year-old Janet Lockhart and two-year-old Michael were discovered in Bonnyrigg at 8:30 on Saturday evening.

A family friend raised the alarm and called Police to the property. Officers then

images (9)entered the house in South Chesters Lane and discovered the fatality.

Police Scotland said on Monday evening that a 32-year-old man had been charged with the murder of the mother and child.

The man is charged and remains in custody, he is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.31/12/13    #4
