Breaking News Police broke the tragic news of the unfolding incident in Eaglesham at the weekend.

We can now reveal the true extend of the horror of what we knew at the time, now that family members have been informed.

A woman named Sharon Barlow aged 47 is in what is described as a critical condition after her ex partner Chris Quinn tried to butcher her to death.

Police have been at the scene all weekend and forensic examinations are ongoing.

Chris Quinn who tried to murder his partner in front of their own children. He took then drastic steps of hanging himself.

Quinn stabbed Sharon Barlow late on saturday night in a which happened at the home he used to share with his son and daughter.

His son and daughter witnessed the terrifying attack, Quinn left Sharon with their two children for dead and fled the scene.

Police immediately launched a ten hour search when a shocked neighbour discovered him hanging in their garden.

Police have confirm that Sharon an Office Manager remains in a critical.

A police spokeswoman said: “Inquiries are continuing following the attempted murder of a 47-year-old woman in a house in Bonnyton Drive, Eaglesham, at 11.20pm on Saturday.

“She is currently in a critical condition in Hairmyres Hospital.

“We are following a definite line of inquiry and not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”

“At about 9.10am on Sunday morning, the body of a 45-year-old man was found in a garden in Bonnyton Drive in Eaglesham.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious.”
