Elderly woman hit by car

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an elderly lady was hit by a car in Preston this morning.

At around 11:20am this morning, the 88 year old woman was hit by a blue Ford Focus as she crossed Blackpool Road, Deepdale near to the junction with Manor House Lane.

She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment for multiple injuries where she remains in a stable condition.

The road was closed for around an hour whilst the scene was cleared and officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward.

PC Matt Davidson who is investigating the collision said, “The area was very busy at the time and so I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to get in touch with us if they have any information that they think could help.”
