Counterfeit CDs and Clothing worth thousands seized by @staffspolice

On Sunday 1 December officers from Cannock Local Policing Team carried out a high visibility operation at Cannock Car Boot Sale on Wellington Drive to prevent and detect offences.

Officers came across large quantities of counterfeit CDs and Clothing with a market value of several thousand pounds. The store holders concerned fled the scene leaving their counterfeit property to be seized by police.

Consumers are reminded to bear in mind when purchasing counterfeit material it may seem like a bargain but often isn’t and counterfeiting undermines legitimate businesses.

Further patrols will be carried out at the site during the Christmas period and enquiries regarding the property seized are being carried out by Trading Standards.
