Two brothers have been jailed for 12 months on Armistice Day for stealing poppy appeal tins from hotels in Sandwell and Birmingham.

The pair Adam and Karl Tookey aged 22 and 25 were captured on CCTV stealing a collection box from the Holiday Inn in Wolverhampton on Wednesday.

The brothers were also charged with stealing another collection box from the Britannia Hotel in Birmingham on the same day.

They were arrested after a security guard spotted them in New Street, Birmingham, on Saturday.

Appearing at Warley Magistrates Court this morning, the duo both pleaded guilty.
