Durham Constabulary are currently dealing with a serious road traffic incident, which happened at approximately 10.35 this morning on the Geneva Road and Falmer Road junction in Darlington where a vehicle has collided with a child pedestrian.

There is currently a road closure in place on Neasham Road from Matalan towards Geneva Road. A 100m cordon is in place around the scene of the collision and is expected to remain in place for several hours.

The driver of the vehicle is still outstanding and police are appealing for them to come forward.

We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call the police on 101.
