Police are appealing for information which will help trace a missing man from Seaham.

Police are becoming concerned for the welfare of missing Peter Jackson, the 38 year old left his home at Weybourne Lea in Seaham at 8.20am.

He failed to show up at work and has not made any contact with his family.

Police have described his actions of completely out of character.

Inspector Ian Sturrock, of Durham Police, has said: “Mr Jackson is known to have left his home address driving a grey Ford Focus C-Max motor vehicle. To date this vehicle or Mr Jackson has not been sighted”.

Anyone who has seen Mr Jackson or his car is asked to contact police on 101
