A man is due to appear before magistrates in Cannock this morning after being stopped on the M6 in Staffordshire.
Wesley Stockley, aged 34, who has been living in Market Street, Hednesford, has been charged with production of cannabis and possession of a prohibited weapon (disguised firearm) and will appear at court this morning.
Stockley and another man were stopped in their vehicle on the M6 at J13 by Staffordshire Police officers, with the assistance of Central Motorway Policing Group officers, at around 9pm on Wednesday 20 November.
The second man, a 36-year-old from Prescot in Merseyside, was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and conspiracy to commit burglary. He has been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in January.
Following their arrest officers carried out a search of Stockley’s address and numerous items were recovered. A detailed investigation into the matter is now underway.
