Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery on a 42-year-old woman at

a cash machine outside the Co-Op Store on Red Hill Road, Stockton.

A man knocked the woman off balance as she put her money from the cash point in her
purse. He then attempted to grab the woman’s purse but she managed to fight him off
before he ran away empty handed towards Ragpath Lane.

The woman suffered minor injuries to her arm and shoulder which did not require any
medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his twenties, around 5ft 8” tall, of
slim build with dark hair and a gaunt face with deep eyes. He was clean shaven and
had acne-type scarring on his face.
He was wearing a thin, black bomber-style jacket which had a small logo or emblem on
the chest area, dark bottoms and trainers.

Any witnesses or anyone with further information is asked to contact DC Richard
Brocklesby of Stockton CID on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers
anonymously on 0800 555 111.
