Local sources tell Breaking News a 25 year old local man was arrested a short distance from a hit and run in darlington which resulted in the death of a 3 year old boy.

His car is believed to have been found by police officers a short distance away conducting a local area search.

Police then attended an address on Rydal Road Darlington and arrested a local 25 year old male,

Local sources further tell Breaking News that the 25 year old is believed to have known the family of the three year old who has tragically died.

Durham Police have confirmed a man is in Custody.
