POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a teenager was knocked off his bike in Darwen on Monday (11th November)

The 14 year old boy was on his paper round at about 8:30am, and as he made his way along Ribble Avenue, a burgundy coloured car, driven by a man, came round the mini roundabout from Birchall Avenue and as it turned right into Ribble Aveune, it clipped the boy, causing him to fall from his bike landing on his hands and knees.

The driver did not stop at the scene to check if the boy was ok and continued his journey.

PC Anna Gavela said, “Fortunately, the young boy only received minor injuries but he was left shaken and we are very keen to speak to the driver involved and so we are appealing for any witnesses, or indeed the driver themselves, to come forward.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log number LC-20131111-0375.
