Suffolk Police have arrested a man on suspicion of making or possessing an explosive item with the intent to endanger life following an incident at a leisure centre.

Suffolk Police were called to the centre of Sudbury yesterday evening following reports of a man making threats to staff, the male is then reported to have thrown a small ignited item into a room.

Police have confirmed the item was extinguished immediately and no damage was caused or anyone injured.

Police arrested  a 33-year-old man, who remains in custody. Police have cordoned off an address in Woodhall Road, Sudbury.
